There are no reports anyone felt it, but instruments detected a small earthquake under Lake Ontario.
It happened around 1 p.m. yesterday, about eight miles off of Lyndonville, in Orleans County.
The magnitude 2.6 quake was detected by a seismograph at McQuaid High School.
The quake was about 3 miles underground.
