Rochester police are investigating after hearing gunshots this morning on Beach Avenue near the Port of Rochester.
Police say officers on foot patrol on Beach Avenue about 10:15 a.m. heard multiple shots nearby. They saw vehicles fleeing the area and Beach Avenue was shut down. They found an empty car in a parking lot with a bullet hole in it.
They say they don't believe anyone was injured, and they don't have anyone in custody yet. Beach Avenue was reopened and the investigation continues.
