Foodlink To Distribute Food While Schools Are Closed

Most public and private schools in Rochester and the surrounding counties are closed, or will close in the next few days.

Mayor Lovely Warren says Foodlink will help distribute food to children and families while city schools are closed and will be open 12 hours a day.

Some of the city R-centers will serve grab-and-go meals -- much like they do during school breaks.

Seven city schools will have grab and go meals from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

In addition, families needing assistance regarding food, shelter or other non-medical services are encouraged to call Lifeline at 211.

Rochester School Superintendent Terry Dade says there will be no online classes for city school students.

Libraries are open to check emails, send faxes and get materials.

Warren says this is a time for people to check on their neighbors.
