Women who were inmates at the Albion Correctional Center and three other New York state prisons claim in a lawsuit that they were sexually assaulted by guards.
The lawsuit claims prison officials knew about the abuse and covered it up.
The women are identified in the lawsuit only with pseudonyms.
Their lawsuit was filed in federal court in New York City and alleges the sexual assaults happened over the last few years.
Some of the allegations involve guards who have already been arrested -- including two at Albion.
The state corrections department would not comment on the lawsuit.
