The University of Rochester says some students are being screened for the coronavirus.
There have been no reported or suspected cases in the area, but the school is monitoring people who recently traveled to China.
Monroe County health officials say they're ready to screen people for coronavirus and treat them if necessary.
The coronavirus is already responsible for thousands of illnesses around the globe and dozens of deaths in China.
