Governor Cuomo is creating a census council to try and make sure every New Yorker is counted in the upcoming 2020 Census. The governor also announced today that he is proposing an extra 10 million dollars into the upcoming budget, making it a total of 70 million for a census outreach effort. The census council will reach out to communities where officials say are traditionally under-counted by knocking on doors and making phone calls. Cuomo says the state is putting up a new information website on the census that has 103 different languages.
