A man already in prison for a violent assault on a child in Medina in 2002 has pleaded guilty to a more serious charge.
David Ricks was serving a 20-year sentence for seriously injuring 4-year-old Devante Boston during a domestic incident.
Boston was left in a vegetative state and died in 2017. Prosecutors say his death was connected to the injuries.
Ricks was re-indicted on a second-degree murder charge last spring and he pleaded guilty yesterday to manslaughter.
Ricks will be sentenced in March.
