Governor Cuomo says he won't let out-of-state federal judges perform weddings in New York because some were appointed by President Trump.
Cuomo vetoed a bill last week that would have allowed the services.
He said in his veto message he "cannot in good conscience" authorize such actions by judges appointed by the Trump administration.
Cuomo said -- in his words -- "President Trump does not embody who were are as New Yorkers." And he said the cornerstones that built New York "are diversity, tolerance and inclusion."
The bill was sponsored in the Assembly by Rochester Democrat Jaime Romeo.
State GOP chairman Nick Langworthy called the governor's action "petty".
