Man Shot After Breaking Into House Released From Hospital, Arrested

A Seneca County man who was shot when deputies say he broke into a home in Genesee County is out of the hospital and under arrest.

Charles Cooper, of Lodi, is accused of breaking into the home in Stafford last month and threatening the homeowners with a pellet gun.

He stole more than $3,000 cash, then was shot by the homeowner at the address on Clinton Street Road.

The charges include burglary, robbery and grand larceny. Authorities say Cooper specifically targeted the home.
