Albany Bishop To Temporarily Lead Buffalo Diocese

The Bishop tapped to lead the Buffalo Diocese is revealing when he'll likely be spending time in Western New York. Albany Bishop Edward Scharfenberger told reporters yesterday he's considering spending Mondays in Buffalo.

Scharfenberger was picked by Pope Francis to oversee the Buffalo diocese following the resignation of Bishop Richard Malone earlier this week. Malone had been facing criticism for how he handed the clergy sex abuse scandal in the diocese. When Scharfenberger was asked if he could end up being Malone's permanent replacement, he said he believes the likelihood is high he'll be staying in Albany.
