A new study suggests that New York is becoming more dangerous when it comes to online dating.
The website High-Speed-Internet-dot-com analyzed reports from all 50 states, and put New York as the eighth most risky for online dating, up from 20th last year.
The analysis used internet crime statistics and data on sexually transmitted diseases to produce the rankings.
Catfishing, or being fooled by someone online who pretends to be someone else, also appears to be on the rise nationwide.
