Two Rochester-area World War Two veterans will be the focus of a show airing Veterans Day on Discovery's "American Heroes" Channel.
Honor Flight Rochester says the documentary "Honor Flight Heroes" will air the oral history of Phillip Voystock and Harold Stryker, two World War Two vets who took part on Honor Flight's Mission 67 back in September. Honor Flight Rochester is also covered in the hour-long program which airs Monday night at 7:00 on the American Heroes Channel.
"Curly" Voystock was stationed in France as part of the American Graves Registration Command, responsible for recovering the bodies of American servicemen buried in makeshift graves throughout Europe. Stryker was part of the Army's 96th Division in the Pacific Battle of Okinawa. They suffered the heaviest combat losses of the seven divisions who invaded the Japanese-held island.
