State lawmakers will try again in the New Year to lower the threshold for someone to be charged with driving while intoxicated.
Bills being introduced in both the Assembly and the state Senate would lower the legal blood alcohol limit from .08 to .05.
Supporters say it will save lives, but critics say it could hurt the economy. They argue people might be afraid to order wine at a restaurant because two glasses could put them near the limit.
Utah is currently the only state where the limit is .05.
