Starting this month, you will have to be 21 to legally buy cigarettes in New York State.
Governor Cuomo announced today that NY’s law raising the age to buy cigarettes and e-cigarettes from 18 to 21, will go into effect on November 13th.
Cuomo signed the legislation back in July. Cuomo says the goal of the law is simple - to prevent cigarettes and vaping products from getting into the hands of young people.
