A former head of the firefighters' union in New York City, who lost a son on 9/11 and moved to Fairport after he retired, has died of cancer.
James Boyle's family claims his cancer was caused by the dust at Ground Zero -- where he had been searching for his son.
Boyle was an advocate for the first responders who contracted health problems after the terrorist attacks.
Services are set for next week on Long Island. A local memorial will be held November 9 at the Church of the Assumption in Fairport.
