Monroe County is getting 43 million dollars from the state to boost infrastructure along Lake Ontario.
The money comes from the Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative -- which was created in response to the recent floods.
$9 million dollars will go toward stormwater and sanitary sewer infrastructure improvements in Greece. And $2.6 million will go toward addressing flooding of the boat launch and parking area at the Irondequoit Bay State Marine Park.
Governor Cuomo says the money will hep build a better waterfront for the next generation.
The shoreline counties will share a total of $300 million dollars in state funding.
Wayne County was given $41 million dollars and nearly $50 million dollars will advance more than a dozen projects in Niagara and Orleans counties.
Other funding under REDI includes $15 million dollars for regional dredging, $30 million dollars for private businesses, and $20 million dollars for homeowner assistance.
