The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has followed up on Governor Cuomo's promise to sue the International Joint Commission.
The DEC has filed suit against the commission, claiming it was negligent in managing water levels on Lake Ontario. The suit says that caused the floods which damaged lakeshore properties in 2017 and earlier this year.
The suit alleges the IJC's Plan 2014 is also to blame for the flooding and resulting property damage. It says the IJC must answer for its wrongful conduct.
