Half of a west side traffic holdup is now gone. The State DOT says all lanes are now open on the southbound side of I-390 north of the 490 split. The on ramp from Lexington Avenue to 390 Southbound is also open again.
All northbound lanes through the new interchange are expected to open late next week, including the fourth lane for the new Lyell Avenue exit.
The lane closures and crossovers were needed so construction crews could rebuild the bridges carrying the expressway over the Erie Canal.
