Monroe County's industrial development agency -- Imagine Monroe -- has approved tax breaks for expansions at the Midtown Athletic Club and the Zweigle's plant.
Midtown is asking for local sales and mortgage tax breaks. The Club says it is facing competition from the YMCA, which is opening a big new branch in Pittsford and pays no taxes.
Zweigles is already getting $1 million in state grants and tax credits and wants local tax breaks, too, to expand the plant on Plymouth Avenue.
