The transplant team at UR Medicine is the first in the Northeast to perform robotic-assisted kidney transplants.
The first such operation at Strong Hospital was done on a Brockport woman in May, using the daVinci Robotic Surgery System. A second operation was done last month.
UR Medicine says the new technique means less invasive surgery for donors, more precision with better imaging, and a shorter recovery.
