The Ontario County Sheriff's Office has identified the man found dead this week along Route 96 in Phelps as a Cleveland man.
Sheriff Kevin Henderson says he was Jean Carlos-Rentas, a 28-year-old Cleveland resident. His body was found by a driver who spotted it at Route 96 near Hayes Road. The sheriff continues to ask anyone who may have seen something unusual in that area on the evening of August 13th between 9:30 and 10:30 to call his office.
