Woman Who Threatened East High Will Remain In Custody, Fights Deportation

The young Rochester woman who made an online threat against East High School will remain in custody while she fights deportation to Mexico.

An immigration judge yesterday denied bond for former student Abigail Hernandez, and she remains held at a federal detention center In Batavia.

Hernandez was brought to the U.S. as a child. She posted the threat last year, the day after the Parkland, Florida, school shooting. She was ordered deported after she pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor.

Her advocates say she has an intellectual disability.
