A California man who came to Rochester hoping to have sex with a 12-year-old has been sentenced to ten years in prison.
Federal prosecutors say 44-year-old Gabriel Murillo of San Bernadino was convicted of attempted online enticement of a minor. Between April of 2018 and February of this year, he engaged in explicit online conversations with someone he believed was a 12-year-old Rochester girl. Unknowingly, he was communicating with a New York State Police investigator, and he was arrested when he flew to Rochester in hopes of meeting the girl.
