The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says they are no longer looking for a suspect after concluding that a reported attack on a 14-year-old runner yesterday didn’t happen.
The sheriff’s office says that after a thorough investigation, they believe the teen fell unconscious during a run on the trail bordering Churchville Park, which may have led to her injuries and some confusion surrounding the incident.
MCSO Captain Jeffrey DelGudico says the girl didn't remember much of what had happened. She will not face any charges.
There is no threat to the public, but the sheriff's office IS continuing to provide extra patrols in the area.
