If you've ever had the urge to take up fishing, you can do it for free across New York State this weekend. The state DEC says Saturday and Sunday are among the six free days being offered to boost interest in the activity. While the requirement for a fishing license is waived, all other fishing regulations will remain in effect. It's estimated New York's sport fishing industry generates roughly three billion dollars in economic activity each year.
