In a statement yesterday, the International Joint Commission said it is meeting soon to discuss Lake Ontario shoreline flooding. And it says it's considering any additional potential flood relief measures that might help shoreline property owners.
But the IJC says the plan that regulates lake is an international treaty, and the six-member IJC doesn't have the power to rewrite it or go back to the earlier 1958 plan.
The statement says modifying or suspending Plan 2014 would be part of a long-term process requiring agreement from the governments of the U.S. and Canada.
