Three people including a four-year-old child are dead and six others are injured after a an SUV carrying a family of nine was truck by an alleged drunk driver at an intersection in Wyoming County.
The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office says it happened yesterday morning on Route 20A at Maxon Road in Sheldon. A pickup truck ran the stop sign on Maxon Road and slammed into the SUV. Two adult women were ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene. One four-year-old died later of head injuries at Wyoming Community Hospital. Four other children and one man were taken to various hospitals for treatment.
The pickup driver has been identified as 20-year-old Richard Sawicki of Lackawanna. Police have charged him with aggravated vehicular homicide, DWI and reckless driving. He's being held on $100,000 bail and must return to court in Warsaw on June 10th.
