Sodus Double Homicide Opening Statements Expected Today

Opening statements are expected today in a double homicide trial in Wayne County.

Timothy Dean is charged with murder in the shooting deaths last fall of Joshua Niles and Niles' girlfriend, Amber Washburn.

They were gunned down outside their home in Sodus.

Dean's wife, Charlene Childers, previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Investigators said Childers had lost a child custody battle with Niles.

Couple Will Be Tried Together For Sodus Murders

The couple charged in connection to a double-murder in Sodus will face trial together in May. Charlene Childers, conspired with her husband Timothy Dean, to shoot to death her ex-boyfriend Joshua Niles and his girlfriend, Amber Washburn.
