State lawmakers have struck a deal involving cameras on school buses.
The devices would be attached to the swinging stop sign on the side of the bus.
They'd be used to record drivers who pass stopped buses while kids are getting on or off.
Supporters believe the cameras will help save lives, since drivers will be more hesitant to pass buses if they know they're being recorded.
Governor Cuomo says he'll sign the legislation.

ALBANY - Yellow school buses will soon be equipped with cameras aimed at catching reckless drivers who pass them while stopped to board or drop off students, lawmakers confirmed Tuesday. Right now, only a police officer who sees a motorist pass a school bus can issue a summons.
