A Pittsford man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to use a social media app to entice a minor for sex.
Canandaigua Police say David Alva used the app ‘Whisper’ to communicate with what he thought was a 14-year-old, and traveled to Canandaigua with the intent of meeting up with the child.
He was instead met by an undercover officer and charged with attempted rape. Additional charges are pending.
