A public hearing is set for today on a request by developer Wilmorite for Monroe County to help it secure space at Marketplace Mall for a new tenant.
Monroe County's Industrial Development Agency -- now called Imagine Monroe -- could use its eminent domain authority to seize space in the parking lot belonging to other mall tenants.
That space -- along with the empty former Macy's store -- would be redeveloped.
Wilmorite isn't naming the possible new tenant, though the Henrietta Town Supervisor said last year UR Medicine was considering putting an orthopedic center there.
