A current member of the Monroe County Legislature is running for a seat on Rochester City Council.
Democrat Lashay Harris has been endorsed by Democratic Committee leaders in the city's South District to run for the seat now held by Adam McFadden.
Harris is a past president of the 19th Ward Community Association and works in the city schools to guide students toward careers in public safety.
McFadden was arrested last week on federal charges and announced this week he would not be seeking another term.
