Former TV reporter Rachel Barnhart says she is running for the open seat in the 21st Monroe County legislative district. It's her fourth campaign for elective office in three years.
Since 2016, she has lost Democratic primaries for state assembly, mayor of Rochester, and congress.
Earlier this month, the Democratic committee in the 21st district endorsed activist Victor Sanchez for the open seat, over Barnhart.
Today marks the start of petitioning to get on the ballot for the June primary date.
