Former Governor Cuomo top aide Joseph Percoco won't have to report to prison next month. An appeals court ruled Friday that the South Salem resident can remain a free man while he appeals his conviction, postponing his original surrender date of March 1st.
Percoco was sentenced in September to six years behind bars, after he was found guilty of taking more than $300,000 in bribes from businesses that wanted to do business with New York State.
Co-defendant and Syracuse-based businessman Steve Aiello is also granted a stay. Both claim there were legal issues with evidence presented by the prosecution.
