The first hearing is set to take place next month as state officials look ahead to the 2020 census.
The discussions will mostly focus on how to make sure everyone is counted, although there will also be talks about how to encourage people to take part in the census.
There are concerns New York could lose congressional seats if the state's population isn't accurately represented.
