The number of flu cases is rising across New York.
Officials say so far this season, 54-hundred people have been infected with the virus statewide. That's a 72 percent spike in just the last week.
Doctors say it's important people six months of age or older get vaccinated. They're also urging people to practice good hygiene to keep germs from spreading.
Governor Cuomo is urging New Yorkers who haven't gotten the flu shot to get vaccinated as soon as possible, saying quote "Flu season is in full-swing, and as the number of cases and hospitalizations continue to rise, we must do everything we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones."
