State police in Steuben County have arrested an Alabama man and his wife on charges they defrauded credit card companies and NYSEG.
Investigators say Thomas Cash used the identities of his children to open multiple accounts for electric service, and used the identities to open credit card and installment loan accounts. And authorities say Cash's wife Alisha -- a former Hammondsport resident -- impersonated Cash's daughter to open an account.
The fraud was exposed when the accounts went to collection.
