The Sheriff's Office is saying more about a hoax threat against Pittsford Mendon High School.
It began with an exchange of text messages Wednesday between two students -- one of whom was with other students on a class trip to New York City. The two students claimed they were joking with each other. But the messages spread to other students, and some became concerned.
Deputies spoke last night with the sender of the original message -- and that student's parents -- and determined there was no credible threat. No weapons were found and robo-calls were made to parents.
The students were not charged, and the school district will handle any disciplinary measures.
