East Irondequoit schools Superintendent Susan Allen is retiring at the end of this year.
She became superintendent in 2005 and was named Superintendent of the Year in 2015. During her tenure, she led the initiative giving a tablet or laptop computer to every student.
An interim superintendent will take over January 1 until the school board hires a permanent replacement.
