Congressman Chris Collins is vowing to serve the constituents of NY’s 27th Congressional District if he is re-elected to another term in November.
In a statement out this afternoon, Collins says he will be fighting on two fronts going forward. He says he will fight to make sure the seat remains in republican hands and he says he will fight to clear his name in the courts. Last month, Collins suspended his re-election campaign after his arrest on federal insider trading charges.
Collins says he will actively campaign for the seat saying "The stakes are too high to allow the radical left to take control of this seat in congress.”
On Monday it was announced that Collins has decided to take his lawyers' advice and keep his name on the ballot.
