New security and safety policies are being put in place at the Blue Cross Arena.
The arena is adding metal detectors. All patrons will be subject to hand-held metal detector screenings for all events. There will also be new limits on bags. Only purses, diaper bags and personal bags for medical reasons will be allowed. They must be soft sided and able to fit beneath a seat. And the bags will be inspected.
And the arena will no longer have designated smoking areas. The new smoking ban also includes e-cigarettes and nicotine inhalers.
