UPDATE: Rochester Police say the man shot early this morning on Lyell Ave. has died from his injuries. The shooting is now being investigated as a homicide.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. near Lyell Avenue and Whitney Street. Police are identifying the victim as 23-year-old Tasmere Kenard of Rochester.
The investigation closed Lyell Avenue in the area overnight. No one has been arrested.
