The Livingston County Sheriff's Office reports a dog that served the department for more than seven years died Wednesday after a sudden illness.
The K9 named Gibbs was diagnosed this week with a large mass in his abdomen and emergency surgery could not repair the damage to his internal organs.
Gibbs was credited with a number of alerts of dangerous drugs, and was involved searches and tracking.
