Thousands of customers in Monroe and Orleans Counties do not have power. National Grid reports over 12,000 customers in Monroe County and over 4,000 in Orleans County are without power. National Grid says the problem is undetermined, but it is involving a high voltage transition line in the area. They have called in a helicopter patrol to help determine the problem. There are also patrols along the ground power lines from Sweden to Lockport.
