New York State’s Wasdworth Labs is partnering with a private pharmaceutical company to look for better tests and treatment for tick-borne diseases such as Lyme Disease.
Governor Cuomo’s office says the State Health Department is partnering with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, a leading biotech company.
The department’s Wasdworth Lab has accumulated a lot of information on ticks and the diseases they carry. Regeneron develops medicines.
Together, the state says they’ll be able to tackle a pressing public health need as tick-borne illnesses become more widespread.
