Democrats in the New York state senate have introduced five bills that provide property tax relief.
One bill caps property taxes for seniors, another helps those disproportionately funding school aid through property taxes; and a third ensures local deductions over the new federal cap remain for incomes under three-hundred thousand dollars.
The federal tax law caps state and local tax deductions at ten-thousand dollars annually. Republicans who control the state senate introduced bills a few months ago that provide property tax relief.
