Rochester Judge Leticia Astacio has filed a formal appeal of her removal from the bench.
Her lawyer has sent a letter to the state Court of Appeals saying she does not accept the removal decision by the Judicial Conduct Commission, and the letter requests a court review of that decision.
The commission recommended Astacio's removal last month for her conduct on the bench and her DWI probation violations. Astacio remains suspended with pay.
