Authorities are identifying the man killed earlier this week in the Town of Savannah.
State Police say 57-year-old Robert Manley of Seneca Falls was killed when the tree he was cutting down with a chain saw split lengthwise and fell on him.
The incident happened yesterday afternoon on Taylor Road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
