There may be new life for the stalled Finger Lakes Resort project in Canandaigua.
The Ontario County Industrial Development Agency voted last night to support a Payment In Lieu of Taxes arrangement that could encourage new investors. The vote came after several citizens spoke at the meeting against taxpayer support for the project.
The head of the Ontario County Office of Economic Development says the area will benefit from the potential revenue from taxes and tourism dollars. Construction of the hotel, condos and conference center was halted three years ago.
