Hundreds Attend Meeting About Whole Foods

There was a heated debate Wednesday night at a public hearing in Brighton.  The main concern continues to be traffic. A study suggests it would add about 40 seconds to the average commute during peak hours. Neighbors have hired a lawyer and threatened lawsuits over the project.  Critics say the group  "Save Monroe Avenue" is propped up by Wegmans which has a location just down the road from where the Whole Foods would be built.  Attorney Aaron Saykin says they are supported by several businesses but declined to elaborate when asked if one of them is Wegmans. The developers from Daniele Family Companies have offered to fix up part of a nature trail in exchange for the approvals they need for this project.
